Description
Honda EB10000 10,000 Watt Industrial Generator with GX630 V-Twin
The EB10000 is the largest machine in Honda’s industrial EB line, built around the 688 cc GX630 V-twin and rated at 9,000 watts continuous with 10,000 watts available at peak. It runs at 120 or 240 volts, starts with a key, and carries a 50 amp locking outlet, which makes it the Honda to look at when a site trailer, a well pump or a large compressor has to run alongside the hand tools.
Voltage Held Within One Percent
Honda fits the EB10000 with its Digital Automatic Voltage Regulator, which keeps output within plus or minus 1 percent while the machine is working. Every outlet is GFCI protected with a neutral bond, the frame is a one-piece welded design, and the unit was built to meet OSHA job-site requirements. An i-Monitor LCD shows running hours, output voltage and battery voltage and reads out fault codes, so service work starts from data rather than guesswork.
Laid Out for Crowded Sites
The exhaust leaves from the center of the machine, creating a hot side and a cool side. Two or three units can stand close together without one breathing the other’s exhaust, and the control panel sits on the narrow end so cords can be plugged in from the walkway. At 73 dB(A) at rated load and 71 dB(A) at half load, it is quieter than its size suggests.

Living with a 400 Pound Generator
Plan the move before the first job. The wheel kit and folding handles roll it across rough ground, but loading it onto a truck is a job for a ramp or the hanging eye and a hoist, not two people and a tailgate. The removable top cover gives quick access to the starting battery, which is worth checking with a meter before winter storm season.
EB10000 or a Smaller EB?
Buyers who never need the 50 amp outlet will save money and about 190 lb with the EB6500 or the EB5000, both of which use the single-cylinder iGX390 and pull-start. The EB10000 earns its place when one machine must replace two.
