The F220 is a light, adaptable mid-tine tiller for vegetable gardens and planting beds. At 53 lb it is easy to lift into a car or carry to a raised bed, and its adjustable width is the feature that sets it apart: till 21 inches wide for open ground, then remove the outer tines and work a 12 inch strip between established rows or along narrow borders.

Small Engine, Sensible Power

The 57 cc GXV57 is a Honda OHV commercial-grade engine, chosen for easy starting and good fuel economy. It drives 11 inch tines at up to 138 rpm through a gear-drive transmission with one forward speed. That makes the F220 better suited to working and re-working garden soil than to breaking hard, compacted sod for the first time.

Handling and Depth

A three-position handle quick-adjusts to suit operators of different heights, and the controls are mounted on the handle. The adjustable depth bar sets how deeply the tines work and how fast the tiller moves forward, and changes without tools. A transport wheel swings up and locks out of the way for tilling, then drops back down to roll the tiller to and from the garden.

The FG110 mini tiller is lighter still for raised beds and cultivating between plants. For larger plots, the 26 inch FC600 brings a GX160 engine, and new ground in hard soil is a job for the rear-tine FRC800.
