Description

Honda WSP73 3/4 HP Submersible Pump for Deep Lifts, 54 ft Head

The WSP73 has the most lifting power of Honda’s top-discharge submersibles. Its 3/4 hp motor pushes water to a maximum head of 54 feet and a maximum pressure of 23 psi, while delivering up to 74 gallons per minute. That suits deep sumps, cisterns, wells and basements where the discharge has to climb out a long way before it drains.

Lift Is the Difference

The WSP73 shares the 8.3 inch stainless body, stainless impeller and 1.5 inch top discharge of the WSP53. What it adds is head: 54 feet against 44, so it keeps flowing in situations where the smaller motor would run out of push. Flow at low lift is similar, so it is the depth of the job that decides between them.

Durability Features

Tandem oil-lubricated mechanical seals, carbon and ceramic above with silicon carbide below, protect the motor and tolerate running dry. Shielded ball bearings top and bottom, Class F motor insulation and a self-resetting thermal switch add to its service life. The 304 stainless casing resists rust and corrosion.

Check the Float’s Free Travel

In a narrow sump, make sure the float switch can rise and fall without catching on the pit wall or the discharge pipe. A stuck float is the most common reason a submersible either fails to start or runs dry.

Other Honda Submersibles

Water carrying leaves, sludge or gravel calls for a side-discharge WSP50 or WSP100, which pass solids up to 2 inches.
