Honda HRN-BV 21″ Battery Lawn Mower

Description

Honda HRN-BV 21 Inch Battery Mower for Smaller Lawns

The HRN-BV is Honda’s entry point to battery mowing: a 21 inch steel deck, a 1.5 kW brushless motor that Honda compares to its GCV170 gas engine, and an 8 Ah battery and charger in the box. At 80.6 lb without battery it is the lightest Honda battery walk-behind, and it suits town lots and small suburban yards where 30 minutes of cutting gets the job done.

Smart Drive Self-Propel

Honda’s Smart Drive gives intuitive variable speed while mowing, from a standstill up to 3.8 mph, and the control adjusts to five positions so it sits comfortably for operators of different heights.

Three Ways to Handle Clippings

The 3-in-1 system mulches, bags or discharges out the rear, and the Clip Director controls the mix between mulching and bagging. MicroCut twin blades put four cutting edges into each turn for fine clippings that disappear into the lawn or pack tightly into the 2 bushel bag. Eight inch high-traction wheels grip in a variety of mowing conditions.

HRN-BV Spec Points

Clean Under the Deck

A steel deck lasts longest when wet clippings are not left caked underneath. Remove the battery first, then tip the mower and scrape the underside after mowing damp grass, and the deck will keep its airflow and its finish.

Quiet Mowing

Without an engine to warm up or fuel to store, the HRN-BV is ready whenever the battery is charged, and it is quiet enough for an early start. The handle carries a UL-certified power isolation feature.

Trading Up

Owners who want leaf shredding, a rust-free NeXite deck and 0.75 inch minimum height should compare the HRX-BV. Bigger lots will benefit from the HRX-BE’s second battery bay.
