BCS 24″ Single-Stage Snow Thrower

The 24 inch snow thrower is the BCS snow tool for the smaller tractors, and it is the only snow attachment charted for the 710 and 718. Its impeller spins at more than 1,200 rpm, so fast that BCS jokes it should be called a snow cannon, and it throws dry, wet or icy snow up to 40 feet from a stainless-steel chute.

Single Stage, Serious Speed

Most single-stage walk-behind blowers are light-duty machines. This one is driven by heat-treated steel gears running on ball bearings in an oil-bath gearbox, with no belts to slip in the cold. The high impeller speed and all-gear drive mean wet, heavy snow is thrown rather than packed, and the angled stainless chute sheds cold quickly, so snow does not build up inside it and the chute never rusts.

Paths and Small Driveways

A 24 inch pass is well suited to walkways, a single-car drive and the paths to barns and coops. A handle at the operator’s position swings the chute left or right, so snow goes where it should without stopping. Skids on both sides set the scraping height in six steps from ground level to almost 2 inches, raised on gravel so stones stay on the drive.

Balancing the Front End

A front-mounted thrower lightens the rear of the tractor and can make the wheels spin on packed snow. BCS’s 24 inch snow thrower weight kit adds ballast where it is needed, and tire chains help on icy drives. Clear snow often in a big storm rather than waiting for a foot to accumulate; a single-stage machine is happiest working moderate depths. Coverage is three years residential and one year commercial.

Choosing Snow Equipment

The 28 inch thrower clears wider and fits the 722 and larger. The two-stage blowers handle drifts feet deep on a 739 or larger tractor. For pushing rather than throwing, the 40 inch snow blade fits from the 722 up.
