Description

Scag Tiger Cat II 52 Inch Zero-Turn with 26 HP Kawasaki FT EFI

This is the configuration most crews mean by Tiger Cat: a 52 inch Velocity Plus deck, a fuel-injected 26 horsepower Kawasaki FT Series engine, and a compact frame that still gets into places a full-size rider cannot.

The Width That Suits Mixed Route Work

Fifty-two inches on a compact frame is a different proposition from 52 inches on a large one. The deck covers ground at a commercial rate while the 80 inch overall length keeps the machine turning inside the obstacles that define suburban commercial properties. Crews running a mixed route of car parks, frontages and enclosed rear ground tend to settle here rather than at either extreme.

  • Cutting width: 52 inches, Velocity Plus cutter deck
  • Engine: Kawasaki FT Series EFI, 26 HP
  • Overall length: 80 inches
  • Forward speed: up to 12 mph
  • Fuel capacity: 9.5 gallons
  • Seat: torsion-spring suspension, four-point iso-mounted, with armrests

Setting the Seat to the Operator’s Weight

The torsion-spring seat adjusts to operator weight, and it is a genuine adjustment rather than a fore and aft slide. Left at whatever the last person set, it either bottoms out under a heavy operator or rides hard under a light one, and in both cases the four-point iso-mounting underneath cannot compensate. It takes a minute and it is the difference an operator feels at the end of a long day.

Discharge Chute Discipline

The chute spends its life being raised near a path and dropped on open ground, and the pivot it turns on collects grass and stiffens until an operator stops bothering. A minute of cleaning and a spray of lubricant keeps it moving freely, which is what keeps it being used rather than left down across a customer frontage.

Reading Across the 52 Inch Machines

The STCII-52V-25CV-EFI is the Kohler at a lower price and slightly lower output, and the STCII-52V-28BV-EFI a Vanguard at 28. For more power the STCII-52V-34CV-EFI and STCII-52V-36BV sit well above. Bluebird Turf supplies this same machine with no-flat tires as the STCII-52V-26FT-EFI-NFT-BB.
