Honda WB30 3 Inch Water Pump for High-Volume Transfer, 290 GPM

The WB30 steps up to 3 inch ports and 290 gallons per minute, close to double the WB20’s flow. That volume is aimed at moving a lot of relatively clean water quickly: draining a swimming pool or flooded field, transferring irrigation water from a pond, or pumping out an excavation that has filled with rain. A GX160 commercial engine powers it.

Volume Over Pressure

The WB30 trades a little head for volume. Its total head lift is 85 feet and maximum pressure 37 psi, against the WB20’s 105 feet and 45 psi, so it is the better choice when the water travels a modest height but the job is measured in thousands of gallons.

Durable Pump End

A rigid-mounted cast iron volute and four-vane cast iron impeller resist abrasive wear, and silicon carbide faces on both sides of the mechanical seal stand up to sandy water. Oil Alert shuts the engine down if oil runs low, protecting it on long unattended runs.

Hose Size Matters

Running 2 inch hose on a 3 inch pump throws away much of the flow you paid for. Match full 3 inch suction and discharge hose to get the rated volume, and keep the discharge run as straight as possible.

Choosing a 3 Inch Honda

For water carrying mud, stones or leaves, the WT30 trash pump handles solids up to 1 1/16 inch. The WB20 is lighter for smaller volumes.
