The EB2200i takes the compact inverter design Honda is known for and specifies it for work: full GFCI protection, OSHA worksite compliance and a commercial-grade GXR120 engine, in a 47.4 lb package that rides on the passenger seat. It produces 1,800 watts continuous and 2,200 at peak at 120 volts, about 10 percent more than the EB2000 it replaced.

Clean Power for Chargers and Electronics

Inverter output is stable enough for battery chargers, laser levels, laptops and diagnostic tools, the kit that open-frame generators can upset. That makes the EB2200i a natural fit for trim carpenters, inspectors, low-voltage installers and mobile mechanics whose tools are more sensitive than they are hungry. The Eco Throttle system lets the engine idle down when demand is light, stretching a 0.95 gallon tank from 3.2 hours at rated load to 8.1 hours at a quarter load.

Quiet Enough for Occupied Buildings

At 48 dB(A) at quarter load and 57 at rated load, it can run outside an occupied home or office without shouting over it. CO-MINDER monitors carbon monoxide and shuts the engine down if levels near the unit climb, an important safeguard when work is close to doors and windows.

Storage Between Jobs

Industrial users often park a small generator for weeks.
