BCS Utility Trailer With Seat

The BCS utility trailer turns a two-wheel tractor into a ride-on runabout. It carries up to 1,100 lbs in a 16 cubic foot box, has a padded seat for the operator, and dumps its load with a simple lever. Hitched with a curved coupler and shifted into a transport gear, it moves firewood, compost, tools and harvest across a property at road speed instead of walking pace.

Leave the Tiller On

The trailer attaches with the tractor’s handlebars in the rear-mount position. The curved coupler holds the tractor level and lifts the tiller tines clear of the ground, so a tiller can stay mounted while hauling. The trailer is for haulage and transport only, and no implement can be operated while it is attached. On the 750, it cannot be mounted with the 33 inch HD tiller fitted.

Box, Brakes and Tailgate

The box measures 43 by 59 inches and is 10.5 inches deep, with a swing-down, removable tailgate. Foot and parking brakes control the load on slopes and when parked. Overall length is 8 feet including the tongue but not the curved coupler, and the wheels sit 45 inches apart outside, 29.5 inches inside.

Riding a Loaded Trailer

Sit down before moving, keep the load low and centered over the axle, and slow down well before turns, because a two-wheel tractor pulling a seated trailer jack-knifes if turned sharply at speed. Use the foot brake on downhill stretches and the parking brake whenever stepping off. Coverage is three years residential and one year commercial.

Trailer or Buddy Cart

The 853’s 9.2 mph rear-mount transport gear makes it the natural trailer tractor. For smaller loads through garden gates, the Buddy Cart carries 550 lbs on a narrow track and fits every BCS model.
