BCS Drip Tape Roll, 1,000 Feet

This 1,000 foot roll of drip tape is sized to load onto the BCS drip tape layer kit and go into the ground under plastic mulch in the same pass. Emitters are spaced every 4 inches, close enough to wet a continuous strip of soil along the bed rather than separate spots.

Close Emitter Spacing

With emitters every 4 inches, the wetted zones overlap and form an even band of moisture under the plastic. That suits closely planted crops and lighter soils, where water spreads less sideways and wider spacing can leave dry gaps between plants.

Filtering the Water

Drip emitters are small and clog easily. When feeding tape from a pond, creek or well, BCS recommends a 120-micron filter, a pressure regulator and a pressure relief valve between pump and tape. Flush the lines at the end of each bed at the start of the season.

Planning How Much to Buy

Add up the bed lengths and multiply by the number of tape lines per bed, then allow extra for the tails at each end. Long runs of thin tape lose pressure, so very long beds may need water fed from the middle.
