BCS Chipper/Shredder Discharge Screen, 20 mm

The 20 mm discharge screen sits near the fine end of the six screens available for the BCS B-100 chipper/shredder. It produces a small, even particle that suits a decorative mulch around flower beds and shrubs, and it lets material through a little faster than the finest 15 mm screen.

A Neat Garden Mulch

Mulch around ornamental plantings looks best when the pieces are small and consistent. Shredded leaves, hedge clippings and light prunings passed through 20 mm holes settle into a tidy layer that stays put and breaks down over a season, feeding the soil underneath. The screen swaps in for the standard 35 mm screen using the chute’s rod and lynch pin.

Feeding for Even Output

Mix soft and stiff material as it goes in, a handful of leaves with a few twiggy stems, so the flails always have something to bite and the screen does not blind with a mat of leaves alone.

Other Screen Options

Step down to 15 mm for the finest compost feedstock, or up to 25 or 30 mm for faster processing of larger volumes. Wet material is best run without a screen, on the rods-and-rollers.
