BCS 30″ Flail Mower

Description

BCS 30″ Flail Mower (BladeRunner)

The 30 inch BladeRunner is the middle size of BCS’s standard flail mowers and the most versatile mower the company sells for rough ground. It mows anything it can bend, including saplings, thick brush and vines, and reduces it to a fine pulp spread across the cut. It fits the 739 and every larger BCS tractor.

A Front That Lifts Itself

The front bulkhead of the mower is designed to lift according to the volume of material coming in, opening for a thick stand of brush and closing again in lighter growth. That automatic front deflector lets the flail take in heavy material without choking while keeping debris from being thrown forward toward the tractor.

Height Control and Casters

A convenient control handle sets the cutting height anywhere from half an inch to 4 inches. Adjustable caster wheels carry the mower for lawn and field work and fold back for heavy brush, where they would only snag. BCS also offers an anti-scalp roller and lawn scoop blades sized for the 30 inch mower.

Why a PowerSafe Tractor Helps

A flail mower is one of the highest-torque loads a BCS ever drives, and long sessions heat a dry clutch. BCS developed its oil-cooled PowerSafe clutch partly for this job, and every tractor this mower fits from the 739 up except the 852 and 853 has one. On those two, engage the PTO smoothly and let the mower reach speed before moving. Coverage is three years residential and one year commercial.

BladeRunner or RollerBlade

The 30 inch RollerBlade flail has a full-length roller, a lower dome and heavier blades for finer cover-crop mulch, but BCS still recommends this standard flail for all-purpose mowing of tall, dense growth. The 24 and 35 inch BladeRunners cover narrower and wider work.
