BCS Buddy Cart

Description

BCS Buddy Cart Powered Barrow

The Buddy Cart is a self-propelled wheelbarrow for a BCS tractor. It hauls up to 550 lbs and 11 cubic feet of compost, stone, firewood or harvest, and at 31 inches wide it fits through a common 36 inch garden gate where a trailer cannot. The tub is rustproof poly and dumps to either side from the tractor.

Narrow, Low and Stable

The cart’s body is 52 inches long, 31 inches high and 31 inches wide, with an overall length of 78 inches including tongue and hitch. The wheels are 18 inches apart inside and 29.5 inches overall, and ground clearance is about 6 inches. A low center of gravity keeps it planted when crossing slopes and uneven ground, and a swivel built into the steel tongue lets the cart rotate about 20 degrees to follow ground contours.

Dumping and Driving Options

A lever on the tongue releases the tub, which rotates 45 degrees left or right to dump. The lever has a rope hole, so the operator can dump without leaving the handlebars. The cart runs in front-mount position or rear-mount, with the handlebars rotated and offset so the operator walks alongside, which is easier uphill or with a heavy load.

Buddy Cart Facts

Loading for the Slope

Load heavy items such as stone low and toward the front of the tub, and keep the cart pointed straight up or down steep ground rather than across it. BCS lists an empty quick hitch tang as an optional accessory for the cart, for owners whose tractors run a quick hitch. Coverage is three years residential and one year commercial.

Cart or Utility Trailer

The utility trailer carries twice the weight and has a seat for the operator, but needs a curved coupler and a 722 or larger tractor, and will not pass through narrow gates. The Buddy Cart is the hauler for gardens, greenhouses and tight places.
