At 5 inches wide and 22 inches tall, these are the largest steel cage wheels BCS lists, matching the 22 inch diameter of the tires on its bigger tractors. They give the heavy BCS models steel-wheel traction on steep, soft or slippery ground, the hillside work BCS names as the reason for steel wheels.

Traction for Heavy Work

A wide steel cage spreads load and digs in at once. On a hillside, in a wet field or on loose plowed ground, it holds where rubber slides, which is most valuable with hard-pulling drag tools and on cross-slope mowing.
