BCS 40″ Power Sweeper

The 40 inch power sweeper is the middle width of BCS’s three, charted for the 722 and every larger BCS. Its brush is wide enough to clear a driveway, barn aisle or loading area efficiently, and it does year-round work: brushing light snow in winter, then debris, grit and leaves from paved surfaces for the rest of the year.

Caster Wheels Set the Height

Two caster wheels, one on each side, carry the sweeper and let it turn easily. Spacers on the casters set the brush height for the job: lower for a firm sweep on asphalt, higher for snow on gravel or for a light brush on a lawn. That adjustment is what lets one tool serve driveways, roofs, docks and turf.

Dethatching and Lawn Clean-Up

BCS points out that the sweeper can lift dead grass, leaves and other debris from a lawn and windrow it in the same pass, ready for collection, which makes the 40 inch a useful spring tidy-up tool for larger lawns. It is equally at home cleaning construction sites and dock areas where loose material collects on concrete.

Wire or Poly Bristles

Poly bristles are kind to surfaces and are the right choice for snow and general sweeping. The mixed poly and wire brush is more aggressive and better for packed debris, moss on paths or grit embedded in concrete, but it will mark soft or decorative surfaces. Choose the brush for the hardest job the sweeper does most often. Attachment coverage is three years residential and one year commercial.

Narrower or Wider

The 30 inch sweeper is the choice for walkways and for the 710 and 718. The 48 inch clears large lots faster but needs a 739 or larger tractor. The 40 inch sits in the middle for driveways and yards.
