Description

BCS 36″ Dozer Blade

The 36 inch dozer blade is a flat, 3/8 inch steel blade for moving and leveling gravel, sand, soil and small debris. It fits the 722 and every larger BCS tractor, angles to five positions, and can push or pull. It is the tool for grading a path, spreading a delivered pile of gravel or backfilling a trench.

Fixed for Leveling

BCS’s snow blade floats on its mount; the dozer blade is fixed. That rigid mounting is what lets it cut down high spots and fill low ones instead of riding over them, so it levels ground rather than skimming it. The blade can also be mounted inverted, so it pulls material backward, useful for dragging soil away from a wall or out of a corner.

Angling and Mounting

Five angle positions steer material to either side as the tractor moves. BCS recommends installing the mounting plate on the PTO connection first, then fitting the blade. If the tractor already carries a quick hitch bushing, an empty quick hitch tang is needed to mount the blade. A box scraper kit is available to turn it into a scraper that carries material.

Dozer Blade Details

  • Size: 36″ wide x 12″ tall
  • Steel: 3/8″ thick
  • Angles: five positions
  • Tractors: 722, 732, 739, 749, 779, 852, 853; HD 2-bolt bushing on the 750 and 889
  • Recommended: wheel weights or barbell hangers in push mode

Spreading Gravel Evenly

Spread a delivered pile in thin layers rather than trying to push it flat in one pass. Take a little from the top of the pile each time, angle the blade so it windrows to the low side, and finish with a pass in reverse with the blade inverted to smooth the surface. Wheel weights make the difference between pushing and spinning. Coverage is three years residential and one year commercial.

Dozer or Snow Blade

The 40 inch snow blade is curved and floats, rolling snow off without sticking; it is the wrong tool for grading. The dozer blade is narrower, rigid and heavier, and belongs to dirt, stone and leveling work.
