Yanmar Bale Spear

Description

Yanmar YQASS Quick-Attach Front Loader Bale Spear

The YQASS is a front-mounted bale spear for tractors with a quick-attach loader. Carrying bales on the loader rather than the rear hitch gives a clear forward view of the bale, which makes stacking, loading trailers and placing bales in feeders much more precise.

Design Features

A tapered main spear with stabilizer spikes holds the bale steady and stops it rotating. The spears are replaceable, so the part that wears is the part that can be renewed, and the frame is built from heavy-gauge plate steel. The mount is compatible with most quick-attach front loaders. Yanmar has not published a separate lift rating for the spear, so the loader’s own capacity is the practical limit. Visibility is the main advantage over a rear spear, since the operator can watch the spear enter the bale.

Handling Bales Safely

Carrying a bale low, just high enough to clear the ground, keeps the tractor stable when turning. Driving slowly on slopes and keeping the heavy end uphill reduces the risk of tipping.

Front or Rear

The YQASS suits owners who stack and feed bales daily. For rear-mounted handling or to balance a loader, the YHF20 and YHF30 three-point hay forks are the alternatives.
