Yanmar 400 Series 72″ Kawasaki Zero Turn Mower

Description

Yanmar YZ472 72-Inch Zero-Turn Mower, the Top of the Yanmar ZTR Line

The YZ472 combines everything at the top of Yanmar’s zero-turn range: the 72-inch deck, the 35 HP Kawasaki FX1000V and a 15 mph top speed. It is built for wide-open properties where the finish still has to look sharp but the owner wants the weekend back. Yanmar describes it as the premium choice for maximum coverage and the fastest finishes it offers.

Engineered for Big Ground

Parker HTG transaxles drive the wheels, the deck is 7-gauge fabricated steel, and the 12.5-gallon tank supports long sessions. Published productivity figures reach about 10.8 acres an hour, the highest in the range. A mower this fast magnifies small setup issues, so tire pressure and deck leveling are worth checking at the start of each season; an uneven deck shows up far more clearly at 15 mph than at 8. The larger rear tires also help the machine stay composed on sloped ground.

Is the YZ472 More Mower Than You Need?

The YZ472 pays off on several acres of open lawn, pasture margins or institutional grounds. If most of the mowing sits between obstacles, the YZ460 offers the same engine and speed with a 60-inch deck. Buyers who want the 72-inch width at a lower price should compare the YZ372 at 27 HP and 11 mph. The accessories matched to this model are the YZMK372-472 mulch kit, the YZBK472 bagger kit for use with the YZB360-400, and the YZDL300-400 electric deck lift. Anyone trailering the mower between sites should also allow for its width when choosing a trailer, since a 72-inch deck rules out many narrow utility trailers.
