Yanmar YSS20 32.5-Inch Middle Buster and Subsoiler Combination

The YSS20 is the compact tractor version of Yanmar’s combination tool, working as a middle buster or as a subsoiler with a reversible rectangular point. It suits tractors from 22 to 45 HP and weighs about 86 pounds, so it is heavier and more robust than the sub-compact YMBSS10.

Breaking Hardpan

The reversible point concentrates the tractor’s pull on a narrow area, fracturing compacted layers that restrict drainage and roots. Reversing the point when one edge wears doubles its service life. The hitch uses Category 1 spacing and is quick-hitch compatible. Subsoiling works best when the ground is dry enough to shatter rather than smear.
