Yanmar SA223 KURO Special Edition Sub-Compact Loader Tractor

The SA223 KURO is a special edition of Yanmar’s SA223, finished with black wheels and equipped from the factory with a front loader, 48-inch bucket, deluxe grille guard and a Yanmar-branded deluxe suspension seat. It rides on TR-34 hybrid tires, which blend turf and industrial tread for owners who split time between lawns and gravel. Yanmar lists it as launching mid-summer.

What Sets KURO Apart

Hybrid tires give better grip than turf tires in soft ground while being gentler on grass than full industrial tread. The deluxe suspension seat improves comfort on long jobs, and the deluxe grille guard gives the front end a distinctive look along with extra protection. Underneath is the standard SA223: a 21.5 HP three-cylinder diesel, dual-range hydrostatic transmission, selectable 4WD and a selectable control valve.

Compatibility Notes

Yanmar states that the KURO is not compatible with a backhoe, so owners who need to dig should choose the SA223BI-LB or SA223BT-LB. The KURO does accept the M60B-SA21P 60-inch mid-mount mower. The selectable control valve comes standard, and front or rear ballast may be needed depending on the implement fitted.

Optional Equipment

Owners can add the M60B-SA21P 60-inch mid-mount mower for lawn care, and front hitch attachments for snow work. Yanmar’s cruise control kit and worklight kits suit owners who use the tractor for long sessions or early starts.

Who KURO Suits

The KURO fits owners who want a well-equipped loader tractor with a distinctive look. The standard SA223BI-L offers the loader on R4 tires, and the SA223BT-L on turf tires.
