Description

Scag Turf Tiger II 52 Inch Zero-Turn with 26 HP Kohler EFI

This is the narrowest Turf Tiger II Scag builds, putting the flagship chassis and driveshaft-driven deck behind a 52 inch cutting width with a fuel-injected 26 horsepower Kohler.

A Heavy Machine on a Narrow Deck

Most buyers choose a Turf Tiger for its width, so a 52 inch version looks like a contradiction. It exists for sites that need the frame rather than the deck: steep ground where a double-tube chassis and a low centre of gravity matter more than acres per hour, and properties where a 61 inch machine physically will not fit but the work is still heavy enough to punish a lighter mower.

  • Cutting width: 52 inches, Velocity Plus cutter deck
  • Engine: Kohler EFI, 26 HP
  • Frame: double-tube steel
  • Cutting height: 1.5 to 6 inches in quarter-inch increments
  • Fuel capacity: 12 gallons
  • Drive: Hydro-Gear 16 cc pumps, Parker 18 ci motors

The Oil Cooler Is Not Decoration

The Turf Tiger carries a standard auxiliary hydraulic oil cooler, positioned to use engine airflow through its fins. It is there because this drive system runs hot under sustained load, and its fins block with chaff exactly like an engine screen does. A machine whose cooler is packed solid is running its transmission at a temperature nobody ever measures and no gauge reports.

Weight Works For You on a Slope

A heavy machine with a low centre of gravity holds a line across a bank that a lighter one starts to slide on, which is the whole argument for buying this frame at a narrow width. It is not licence to work steeper ground than the manual allows, but within that limit the Turf Tiger feels settled where a lighter mower feels like it is thinking about it.

Where a 52 Inch Turf Tiger Makes Sense

If width is what you need, the 61 and 72 inch machines are the range proper and this one is an unusual choice. If frame and cut height are what you need, this is the cheapest way to them. The STTII-52V-25CH-LP-EFI is the propane version at the same width.
