The SW is Scag’s belt-drive walk-behind, built around a five-speed Peerless transmission and twin power belts rather than a hydrostatic drive. At 32 inches this is the narrowest, running a 14 horsepower Kawasaki FS.

Belt Drive Is a Deliberate Choice, Not an Old One

A belt-drive walk-behind is simpler, lighter and considerably cheaper than a hydro equivalent, and for a crew that needs a machine for the parts of a site a rider cannot reach rather than for whole properties, that is the right trade.
