Scag SFCII-30 30″ Kohler 7HP

Description

Scag SFCII 30 Inch California Compliant Finish-Cut Mower with Swivel Wheels

The second-generation 30 inch finish-cut mower certified for California, with swivel front wheels and a 7 horsepower Kohler Command, priced level with every other 30 inch machine in the range.

Four Machines, One Price

Scag lists both generations of the 30 inch mower in federal and California form at the same figure. That removes price from the decision entirely and leaves only two questions: whether you need the certification, and which generation suits your operators. It is an unusually clean choice for a catalog this size.

• Cutting width: 30 inches
• Engine: Kohler Command, 7 HP, California certified
• Front wheels: swivel, lockable
• Type: commercial finish-cut walk-behind

Folding the Handle for Transport

A 30 inch mower that fits in a van does so with the handle folded, and the folding mechanism is the part that wears on a machine loaded and unloaded several times a day. Checking the knobs and pivots occasionally, and folding it deliberately rather than letting it drop, keeps a handle rigid rather than developing the wobble that makes a machine tiring to steer.

Emissions Labels Fade

On a small machine the certification label sits somewhere exposed and it does not survive a decade of pressure washing. Photographing it when the mower is new gives you a legible copy long after the original has gone, which is the sort of thing nobody thinks about until an inspection.

File It With the Purchase Record

A photograph in a folder with the invoice is findable; one in a phone gallery is not.

Two Serials Matter on This Machine

The mower carries one serial and the engine another, and the certification belongs to the second. Recording both together is what makes the first useful later.

The Other 30 Inch Machines

The SFCII-30-7CV-S is the federal version of this mower. The SFC-30-7CV-S and SFC-30-7CV-S-CA are the first-generation equivalents, and the SFCII-30-7CV-S-P carries the Warrior livery.
