Description

Scag Cheetah II 61 Inch with Kawasaki FX1000 EFI and No-Flat Tires

This is the 61 inch Kawasaki Cheetah II supplied on flat-free airless drive tires from the factory. The NFT option carries a premium of around fifteen hundred dollars over the standard machine, which is the largest tire upcharge in Scag’s range.

Airless Tires on a Fast Machine

Most discussion of no-flat tires assumes a machine working at mowing speed. A Cheetah II travels at up to 16 mph in high range, often across tarmac between sections, and solid tires build heat under sustained high-speed running in a way pneumatics do not, because there is no air to carry it away. It is not a reason to avoid them, but long transit runs on hard surfaces are worth breaking up rather than doing in one continuous push.

  • Cutting width: 61 inches, Velocity Plus cutter deck
  • Engine: Kawasaki FX1000 EFI, 38 HP
  • Drive tires: flat-free airless
  • Ground speed: 12 mph low range, 16 mph high range
  • Fuel capacity: 13 gallons
  • Cutting height: 1.25 to 5 inches in quarter-inch increments

Working Out Whether Fifteen Hundred Is Worth It

The honest test is how many punctures your fleet actually had last season and what each one cost in lost time, not how many it might have had. Operators on reclaimed ground, construction fringes or sites with hawthorn and blackthorn hedging usually know the number and it justifies the option easily. Crews on clean municipal turf often find they have not had one in years.

Specifying Tires on a 61 Inch Cheetah

Take the airless option where punctures are a recurring cost. Otherwise the SCZII-61V-38FX-EFI is the identical machine on pneumatics for considerably less. Bluebird Turf supplies the same configuration as the SCZII-61V-38FX-EFI-NFT-BB with airless fitted as standard, and the Simply the Brave SCZII-61V-40BV-EFI-NFT-T pairs airless with the larger Vanguard engine.
