Honda HRC-BE 21 Inch Commercial Battery Mower with 2.0 kW Motor

The HRC-BE is Honda’s commercial-grade battery walk-behind, built for landscape crews and grounds staff who need a battery mower that stands up to daily use. Its 2.0 kW brushless motor delivers 33 percent more power and torque than Honda’s residential battery mowers, and Honda compares it to the GCV200 gas engine. The mower carries a 2 year warranty for commercial use as well as residential.

Built Heavier for Work

A 21 inch heavy-duty steel deck with side guards takes knocks against curbs and trailers, and a front bumper protects it while doubling as a tie-down point. Handles use 1 inch tubing with stronger supports and stays, and cables are sealed and adjustable. Sealed ball bearings run in all four 9 inch wheels.

Cruise Control and Roto-Stop

Honda’s electric Cruise Control transmission sets the ground speed from 0 to 4 mph with a lever and holds it, even with a heavy bag, and Honda says it outperforms the earlier HRC216 gas mower in that respect. Roto-Stop drives the mower with the blades stopped, so it can cross gravel between properties without wasting charge.

Charging on the Trailer

A crew can keep the mower working through the day by rotating packs. Two 12 Ah packs give about 90 minutes of cutting, and Honda’s optional 8 A quick charger brings a 12 Ah pack back in about 1.5 hours, compared with about 6 hours on the standard charger.

Sharpening Twin Blades

MicroCut twin blades are a matched stacked pair. Sharpen and balance them as a set, and reinstall them in the same orientation, or the fine-clipping cut that the system is known for suffers.

HRC-BE or a Residential Model?
