Honda EU2200i Companion Inverter Generator with 30 Amp RV Outlet

The Companion is the EU2200i with one change that matters a great deal to RV owners: its panel carries a 30 amp 125 V locking receptacle alongside the standard 20 amp outlet. That single socket simplifies two jobs, plugging a camper’s shore-power cord in through an adaptor, and running two generators in parallel with a simple cord rather than a separate parallel kit.

Built to Be the Second Generator

The name describes the role. An owner with a standard EU2200i, or an older EU2000i K1 or T1, adds a Companion and links the two for up to 4,400 watts, enough for a camper’s air conditioner and microwave on a hot afternoon. When the extra power is not needed, either unit goes off on its own, each light enough at 47.4 lb for one person to carry.

Same Engine and Manners as the Standard Model

Inside is the 121 cc GXR120 commercial engine, producing 1,800 watts continuous and 2,200 maximum. Eco Throttle stretches the 0.95 gallon tank to as much as 8.1 hours at light load, sound levels sit between 48 and 57 dB(A), and CO-MINDER, Oil Alert and an electronic breaker are standard. Bluetooth pairing with the My Generator app covers wireless stop, monitoring and service reminders.

RV Adaptor Note

Most campers use a TT-30 style shore-power plug, and the 30 amp outlet here needs Honda’s optional adaptor to accept it. Remember that the 30 amp label describes the socket; a single Companion still supplies 2,200 watts at most, so manage the air conditioner and microwave so they do not start together.

Standard EU2200i or Companion?

Buy the standard EU2200i if the generator will mostly run household items through ordinary plugs. Choose the Companion when an RV connection or a future parallel pair is in the plan, or step up to the EU3200i for more single-unit power.
