BCS High-Pressure Irrigation Pump

When water has to travel a long way or climb a hill before it reaches the sprinklers, a transfer pump runs out of pressure. The BCS high-pressure irrigation pump is built for that job, delivering up to 85 psi and 145 gallons per minute. Made by Rovatti of Italy, it fits every BCS tractor and, unlike the transfer pump, does not need a Power Cradle.

Built for Distance and Height

The pump moves water farther and higher than ordinary transfer pumps, which is why BCS recommends it over its water transfer pump for sprinkler systems and other irrigation. A cast-iron housing contains heavy-duty helical gears, oil-bath lubricated bearings and a quality mechanical seal, which together give high efficiency and a long, low-maintenance service life. It is self-priming and lifts water from up to 26 feet below the pump.

Hoses and Fittings Included

The pump ships with a 25 foot suction hose and a 50 foot discharge hose, both on 2 inch camlock fittings, along with a foot valve and strainer combination and a steel strainer. The screened foot valve keeps debris out and stops water draining back, so the pump stays primed between uses. A caster wheel makes it easy to move into position.

Uses Beyond Irrigation

BCS lists dust suppression on lanes and arenas, washing equipment, and fighting fires in remote areas among its other jobs. Whatever the use, lay the suction hose so it never kinks, keep the foot valve off the bottom of a pond or creek where silt collects, and drain the pump before frost. Coverage is three years residential and one year commercial.

Irrigation Pump or Transfer Pump

The water transfer pump moves slightly more water at much lower pressure and costs less, which suits flood irrigation, pond filling and draining. Choose this pump when the water must reach sprinklers or travel uphill.
