BCS Chipper/Shredder Discharge Screen, 50 mm

The 50 mm screen is the most open of the six BCS offers for its B-100 chipper/shredder. Its large holes let material out of the shredding chamber quickly, giving the fastest throughput and the coarsest product, which suits bulky clean-up work where volume matters more than fineness.

Bulk Reduction

Storm clean-up, clearing an overgrown garden or reducing a pile of brush trimmings is about shrinking volume, not making a fine mulch. The 50 mm screen does that fastest. The coarse output is good for walkway mulch, for bulking out a compost pile, or simply for taking up far less room than the original pile.

Hearing and Eye Protection

Faster throughput means more material moving through the machine and out of the chute. Stand to the side of the discharge, wear eye and hearing protection, and keep hands out of the hopper; push stubborn material in with a stick.

When to Use a Smaller Screen

For a finer mulch or compost feedstock, the 15 to 30 mm screens and the standard 35 mm give smaller particles at slower rates. For wet material, the rods-and-rollers supplied with the chipper clog least.
