BCS 59″ Dual Action Sickle Bar Mower with Fingers

At 59 inches, this finger-type dual action bar is sized for owners cutting hay or mowing large grass fields on a 739 or bigger BCS. Two opposing knives cut fast with little vibration, and the fingers feed grass cleanly into them. Like all BCS sickle bars it is sold complete, bar and dual action oil-bath transmission together.

Width Without the Shake

A single knife moving back and forth shakes the tractor and the operator, and the effect grows with bar length. On a dual action bar the two knives balance each other, so a 59 inch cut feels smoother than a much narrower single action bar. That lets the operator use the faster working gears on open ground.

Following the Field

A swivel joint in the drive shaft lets the bar follow ground contours across its full width, keeping the cut even over rough pasture. Self-adjusting, spring-loaded tensioners keep the knives seated against the ledger plates, and riveted lower guards stop cut stems packing into the bar.

Laying a Good Swath

Hay dries evenly when it lies in an even swath. Mow in one direction around the field so the cut material falls the same way each pass, leave a clean edge for the next pass to follow, and avoid mowing more than can be raked and baled before the weather turns. Coverage is three years residential and one year commercial.

Dual Action Choices on a 739

The 67 inch bar without fingers also fits the 739 and handles woody growth. The 71 inch finger bar cuts even wider in grass. The 47 inch bar costs less and suits narrower ground.
