BCS 51″ Dual Action Sickle Bar Mower (No Fingers)

The 51 inch dual action bar has no fingers, and that is its point. BCS made the fingerless version for woody material such as saplings and scrub, where fingers can be prone to breakage. It brings dual action cutting to the 722 and 732 as well as every larger BCS, and it is sold complete with its oil-bath transmission.

Built for Woody Growth

Without fingers, stems meet the two opposing knives directly, so thicker, tougher growth does not snap a finger or jam between them. This version also carries heavier-duty self-adjusting tensioners than the finger bars. That makes it the better tool for reclaiming overgrown fields, clearing fence rows and keeping brushy banks under control.

Smooth and Low Maintenance

The two knives moving in opposite directions cancel much of the vibration of a single action bar, which matters on rough ground. Spring-loaded tensioners keep the knives seated as they wear, so there are no clamps to adjust, and riveted guards on the lower teeth keep cut material from clogging the bar.

Cutting Saplings Cleanly

Saplings cut best at full knife speed with a slow ground speed, so each stem takes several strokes. Mow overgrown ground in late summer, when woody regrowth has used its root reserves, and cut it again the next year to keep it from coming back. Coverage is three years residential and one year commercial.

Matching Bar to Ground

The 47 inch bar with fingers fits the same tractors and is better in clean grass. The 67 and 82 inch fingerless bars cover more ground on larger tractors. Choose the 51 where woody growth and a 722 or 732 meet.
