BCS 26″ Precision Depth Roller (Tiller Not Included)

The Precision Depth Roller, or PDR, turns a 26 inch BCS tiller into a hybrid tool: it keeps the tiller’s ability to chop residue and break ground, and adds the finishing control of a power harrow. This listing is the roller assembly only, for owners who already have a 26 inch tiller. BCS developed it over several years with input from customers and partners.

Setting Depth to the Half Inch

A full-width roller behind the tines rides on the soil and sets how deep they work. A quick-change lever has 17 settings in half-inch steps, from 0.5 to 7 inches, plus a transport position that lifts the tines clear so the roller acts as a wheel between beds. Because the deepest setting still reaches 7 inches, the PDR never needs removing for primary tillage.

Seedbeds and Cultivation

For final bed preparation, a shallow setting of half an inch to two inches mixes in amendments and loosens the top layer for young roots, while the roller lightly firms the surface, which helps mechanical seeders and germination. Used for weeding, a shallow depth kills emerging weeds and leaves a dirt mulch without bringing buried weed seed to the surface.

Fit With a 26 Inch Tiller

• 722, 732, 739, 749, 852, 853: quick hitch or PTO extension required
• Model 750 and 889: HD 2-bolt bushing required
• Not for: 710, 718 or 779
• Depth range: 0.5″ to 7″ in 0.5″ steps

Keeping the Roller Clean

Wet, sticky soil builds up on a roller and changes the depth it sets. Avoid using the PDR on soil that smears in the hand, scrape the roller clean before putting it away, and check that the depth lever moves freely at the start of each season. As an attachment it carries three years residential and one year commercial coverage.

26 or 30 Inch Roller

The PDR is sized to match its tiller, so the 30 inch roller goes with the 30 inch tiller on the 739 and larger tractors, including the 779. Choose the 26 inch roller if the tiller is 26 inches, as it must be on a 722 or 732.
