BCS 48″ Power Sweeper

The 48 inch power sweeper is the widest BCS makes and is built for big paved areas: parking lots, long drives, church and school grounds, and farm yards. It fits the 739 and all larger BCS tractors, and it clears light snow, leaves, sand and debris in far fewer passes than the narrower sweepers.

Following the Ground

Across 4 feet of brush, uneven pavement matters. The mounting flange has an oscillating swivel joint, so the sweeper rocks to follow ground contours independently of the tractor. The brush stays evenly on the surface across its full width instead of sweeping hard on one end and missing at the other, which is what leaves streaks on a wide sweep.

Large-Area Applications

Typical jobs for the 48 inch include brushing light snow off parking lots and long lanes, clearing winter sand and salt from paved areas in spring, sweeping construction debris before a site handover, and cleaning flat roofs and docks. Caster wheels with spacer adjustment set the working height for each.

Planning a Sweep Pattern

On a large lot, start along the center line and angle the brush to throw material toward one side, then work outward in overlapping passes so everything moves the same way to a single windrow. Sweeping into the wind makes a mess of dust and light snow; turn the pattern so it blows away. BCS sells 48 inch poly and poly/wire replacement brush kits. Coverage is three years residential and one year commercial.

Sweeper Size by Area

The 40 inch sweeper costs less and fits the 722 and 732. The 30 inch suits paths and the 710 and 718. Where the area is large and the tractor is a 739 or bigger, the 48 inch saves the most time.
