BCS 32″ Power Harrow

The 32 inch power harrow is the widest in BCS’s range, built by Thivierge of Quebec for the 739 and larger tractors. It suits growers working wider beds or open plots, and landscapers who use the harrow’s mesh roller to level uneven ground before seeding lawns.

A Floating Integrated Tang

Every BCS power harrow carries its own quick hitch tang at the PTO connection. The tang’s bolt hole is wider than usual where it meets the tractor’s female bushing, which lets the harrow float side to side on uneven ground instead of digging in on one edge. Because of that integrated tang, a Quick Hitch Bushing is required on every BCS tractor, plus a 2-stud HD bushing on the 750 and 889.

Seedbeds for Machines

The harrow stirs the top layer with horizontally turning knives, then a metal mesh roller follows, setting depth from zero to 5 inches and gently compacting the surface. That firm, level finish is what mechanical seeders and lawn overseeders need, and on landscape jobs the same roller smooths out ruts and ridges left by other machinery.

• Recommended: Bumper Weight Kit
• Depth: adjustable 0″ to 5″
• Not charted for the 710 through 732

Clearing Stones Before Harrowing

A power harrow’s knives are hard on stones and stones are hard on the knives. On landscape sites, rake out rubble and larger stones before harrowing, and stop to clear anything that jams between the knives rather than forcing it through. Check knife bolts after the first few hours. Attachment coverage is three years residential and one year commercial.

Choosing Width

The 30 inch harrow is lighter at 171 lbs and sized for the popular 30 inch bed. The 21 inch harrow is the only one for the 722 and 732. The 32 inch makes sense where beds are wider or the ground is open.
