BCS 32″ Brush Mower

Description

BCS 32″ Brush Mower

The 32 inch brush mower is the widest in the range and is built for the heavy BCS tractors: the 749, 852, 853 and 779, plus the 750 and 889. It clears larger areas of rough grass, weeds and saplings in fewer passes, making it the brush mower for acreage owners maintaining meadows, firebreaks and long trail networks.

Ground Clearance for a Wide Deck

A wider deck hangs further from the tractor and sits closer to the engine. BCS recommends 5×12 wheels with this mower, because the extra wheel height lifts the engine and gives more ground clearance over the deck. All the tractors it fits come standard on 22 inch tires.

Not a Cover Crop Mower

Brush mower blades cut and drop material in fairly large pieces under the rear rubber flap; they do not chop it finely the way a flail mower or lawn mower does. That suits field maintenance, where the clippings simply lie, but BCS does not recommend brush mowers for cover crops that need to break down quickly.

32 Inch Mower Fitment

• Cutting width: 32″; height 4″
• 749, 779, 852, 853: quick hitch or PTO extension required
• 750, 889: HD 2-bolt bushing
• Recommended: 5×12 wheels
• Not charted for: 710 through 739

Blade Sharpening and Balance

Thick swinging blades stay effective with less sharpening than lawn blades, but a dull, rounded edge tears growth and loads the gearbox. Remove and sharpen both blades together, take the same amount from each, and check they weigh the same before refitting; an unbalanced pair shakes the mower and the operator. Coverage is three years residential and one year commercial.

Picking Brush or Flail

The 26 inch brush mower fits more tractors, including the 722 and 739. The 35 inch flail mower on the same heavy tractors pulverizes material finely and handles thicker brush, at a higher price. The 32 inch brush mower is the economical wide cutter.
