BCS 22″ Lawn Mower with Catcher

The 22 inch lawn mower turns a compact BCS tractor into a proper lawn mower, with a steel deck, a bag and gear drive, so a homeowner with a 710, 718, 722 or 732 does not need to own and store a separate mower. BCS says its lawn mowers outperform most walk-behind mowers on the market.

Height Without Moving the Deck

Most mowers change height by raising or lowering the whole deck, which changes the gap under the deck rim and the air flow that fills the bag. BCS mounts the blade on a splined shaft and moves the blade itself, using a top-mounted lever, while the deck stays where it is. That keeps bagging performance consistent at every setting. The 22 inch cuts from 1.5 to 2.5 inches.

Bag or Side Discharge

The mower bags clippings or discharges them to the side through a port above the deck, which spreads them more widely. The bag is hinged so it pivots up and forward for emptying, and it lifts off when side discharge is wanted. The deck is 1/8 inch steel and the blade is driven by heat-treated gears in an oil bath.

Mowing for a Good Bag Fill

Clippings bag best when the grass is dry and the cut takes off no more than a third of the blade height. In a fast spring flush, mow twice a week rather than taking a heavy cut once, and empty the bag before it is completely full so air keeps flowing. Coverage is three years residential and one year commercial.
