Honda FC600 26 Inch Mid-Tine Tiller with Commercial GX160

The FC600 is Honda’s heavy-duty mid-tine tiller, sized for large gardens, market plots and rental fleets. A 163 cc GX160 commercial engine turns 13 inch tines across a 26 inch path, and the machine is built with reinforced components throughout so it stands up to rough soil and hard use. At 128 lb it is substantial, but far easier to manage than a rear-tine machine.

Wide Path, Steady Running

A 26 inch tilling width makes quick work of large areas, and staggered tines engage the soil in sequence for smoother running and less vibration, reducing fatigue over a long session. Side discs come standard: they keep the tiller tracking straight for neater furrows, protect plants, and stop the tines catching on fences and sidewalks.

Commercial Construction

Honda lists a reinforced handlebar, tine seal shaft protection, tine axle seal guards, a reinforced engine bed, a commercial-grade fuel cap and filter, and a corrosion-resistant muffler. A reinforced fender protects the drive belt, and a front engine guard protects the engine while serving as an extra tie-down point.

Rental and Shared Use

The dual-element air cleaner protects the engine in dusty conditions, and the depth bar adjusts without tools, both useful when the tiller passes between several users. A retractable transport wheel lowers to roll it to the plot and locks up when tilling.

Seal Checks

Wire, twine and long roots wind around tine shafts and work into the seals. After each use, cut away anything wrapped around the shaft before it tightens and draws grit past the seals.

Matching Tiller to Ground

The F220 is far lighter for small beds. Breaking compacted or virgin ground is better done with the self-propelled, rear-tine FRC800.
