BCS Non-Metallic Snow Blade Cutting Edge

A steel cutting edge scrapes snow cleanly from asphalt and gravel but can scratch, chip or mark softer and more valuable surfaces. This non-metallic edge replaces the steel edge on the BCS 40 inch snow blade for clearing snow from vulnerable surfaces, with granite named by BCS as the example.

Where It Belongs

Granite and stone walkways, decorative pavers, stamped concrete and painted surfaces are the places a steel edge does harm. Estates, public buildings and landscaped grounds with high-value hardscape are the typical users. On ordinary drives the standard steel edge remains the better scraper.

Setting the Skids

Even with a gentle edge, set the blade’s skids so the edge just skims the surface rather than bearing down hard. Clear early in a storm, before snow compacts underfoot, since a softer edge will not shear packed snow the way steel does.

Adding Weight

The optional 20 lb snow blade weight keeps the blade down on sloping walks, useful with either edge.
