BCS 66 lb Wheel Weights for 10″ Wheels

A two-wheel tractor pulling a drag implement depends entirely on its tires for traction, and a light tractor runs out of grip before the implement reaches depth. These bolt-on wheel weights add 66 lbs, 33 lbs per wheel, to tractors on 5×10 wheels, the size standard on the 739 and the upgrade wheel for smaller BCS models.

Required for Some Implements

BCS says wheel weights are required for the moldboard plow and the root digger, and for any job where the tractor’s own weight is not enough to do the work. Its application chart recommends wheel weights or barbell hangers with the ridger, V-cultivator, bed shaper and 36 inch dozer blade as well. Better traction improves both the result and safety.

Wider and Heavier Together

BCS recommends wheel extensions with wheel weights. A wider stance keeps the added mass stable on slopes and lets the tires run outside a bed rather than packing it.

Other Ballast Choices

Tractors on 12 inch wheels take the 150 lb set. Barbell hangers are a cheaper, adjustable alternative, and foam-filled tires add weight inside the tire itself.
