The YM238GXI puts Yanmar’s 38.2 HP YM238 on R4 industrial tires with no loader. It is the YM2 for owners who maintain long gravel roads, equipment yards and farm lanes, and who want the power to run the heaviest grading tools in Yanmar’s compact implement line.

Heavy-Duty Grading Tools

The YM238 meets the 35 HP minimum for Yanmar’s 72-inch YLG216 land grader, whose twin blades leave an exceptionally smooth surface on gravel. It also pairs well with the heavy-duty 300 Series tools, including the YGB306 grader blade, which Yanmar builds with offset capability for reaching ditch banks and fence lines, and the YBB306 box scraper with six scarifier shanks for ripping compacted roadbeds.

Why R4 for Road Work

Industrial tires wear slowly on gravel and pavement, and their stiff sidewalls resist the sideways push of an angled blade. At about 2,866 pounds with 10.6 inches of ground clearance, the YM238 holds a grading tool steady at depth without the front end wandering.

Maintaining a Farm Road

Grading after a light rain, when the surface is damp but not muddy, lets the material knit together as it settles. Working the crown back toward the center each spring keeps water running to the ditches rather than down the wheel tracks, where it cuts ruts.

Sized for 25 to 45 Acres

Yanmar positions the YM2 Series for properties of roughly 25 to 45 acres. The YM238 sits at the top of that range, giving owners with larger road networks and heavier grading work the power to keep up.

Choose the YM238GXI for road maintenance and hard-ground work. The YM232GXI is a lower-cost alternative, and the YM238GXI-TL adds the YL405 loader.
