Crews working fenced back gardens usually face a choice between a rider that stays on the front lawn and a walk-behind that reaches everything slowly. The 32 inch V-Ride II removes the choice. In transport position it folds to 33.75 inches wide and weighs 818 lbs, so it also loads three-abreast on a trailer where wider machines would take two slots.

Advantage Deck Rather Than Velocity Plus

The 32 and 36 inch machines run Scag’s Advantage cutter deck instead of the Velocity Plus fitted to the wider models. Advantage is a two-blade design tuned for high discharge velocity out of a narrow shell, which is the harder engineering problem at this width. It handles fine grass and tough weeds alike, and the front baffle can be set to suit local conditions.

Deciding Between the Two 32 Inch Machines

The Kawasaki FX at 16 horsepower is the sensible default here, because a 32 inch deck simply cannot load an engine hard enough to need more on ordinary turf. Take the SVRII-32A-23BV with its 23 horsepower Vanguard only if your back-garden work includes genuinely heavy spring growth. If your gates turn out to be wider than you feared, the 36 inch SVRII-36A-19FX covers noticeably more ground per pass for a small increase in transport width.
