Description

Scag Turf Tiger II 61 Inch Zero-Turn with 33 HP Vanguard BIG BLOCK

At its price this is the least expensive Turf Tiger II in the range, carrying a carbureted 33 horsepower Vanguard BIG BLOCK behind the 61 inch Velocity Plus deck. It is the cheapest route to Scag’s flagship chassis.

What You Still Get at the Bottom of the Range

Nothing structural is removed to reach this price. The double-tube frame, the driveshaft-driven deck, the auxiliary oil cooler, the Command-Comfort operator station and the 16 cc pump drive system are all as fitted to machines costing seven thousand more. What is different is a carburetor instead of injection and 33 horsepower instead of 40, neither of which changes what the machine is.

  • Cutting width: 61 inches, Velocity Plus cutter deck
  • Engine: Vanguard BIG BLOCK, 33 HP, carbureted
  • Frame: double-tube steel
  • Deck drive: driveshaft
  • Fuel capacity: 12 gallons
  • Forward speed: up to 12 mph

Quick-Fit Levers Are Worth Adjusting

The Command-Comfort station uses Quick-Fit adjustable steering levers, which move to suit arm length and preferred riding position. Most machines are run on whatever setting they left the factory with, because nobody realises the adjustment exists. Ten minutes finding the right position changes how a full day feels more than any other adjustment on the machine.

Greasing in a Consistent Order

A fully equipped Turf Tiger has enough grease points that working round it randomly guarantees one gets missed, and the one that gets missed is always the awkward one. Doing them in the same physical order every time, front to back and left to right, turns a list into a habit. Machines that fail early at a pivot almost always failed at the point somebody could not reach comfortably.

The Entry Point to the Turf Tigers

The STTII-61V-38CH-EFI adds injection and five horsepower for a modest step up, and the STTII-61V-40BV-EFI is the volume configuration. If this price is the ceiling, compare it against a well-specified Tiger Cat II before deciding, because that range offers more engine for the money on a lighter frame.
