Thirty-Five and a Half Inches Is a Deliberate Number

Standard residential side access is nominally 36 inches, and a machine at 35.5 goes through one where a 40 inch frame does not. That is the whole case for this version. It buys access to back gardens, courtyards and alleyways that would otherwise be barrow work, and on domestic landscaping and tree work that is most of the job.

Measure the Route, Not Just the Gate

The gate is rarely the tightest point. A path that narrows beside a bin store, a step with a handrail, an overhanging porch roof and a parked car all reduce what is actually passable, and the machine has to get back out as well as in. Walking the full route with a tape before quoting is the difference between a job that works and one that does not.

Protecting Ground You Have to Cross

Even at 5.5 psi a loaded machine marks soft turf, and the route in is usually across the lawn the customer cares about. Plywood or track mats laid over the crossing points cost little, take minutes, and turn a complaint about ruts into a job nobody mentions afterwards.
