Description

Scag Classic Walk-Behind Blower with 9.5 HP Briggs

A walk-behind push blower with a 9.5 horsepower Briggs engine. At its price it is the least expensive powered blower Scag offers and the entry point to wheeled blowing.

Why a Wheeled Blower Beats a Backpack

A backpack blower is limited by what an operator can carry and tolerate, which on a long cleanup is considerably less than the job needs. A wheeled machine puts the weight on the ground and the output well beyond backpack range, and the operator walks rather than carries. For any cleanup measured in hours rather than minutes, it is a different class of tool.

  • Engine: Briggs & Stratton, 9.5 HP
  • Type: walk-behind push blower
  • Rated for commercial use
  • Discharge: side, with adjustable direction
  • Chassis: wheeled walk-behind
  • Application: leaf and debris clearance on turf and hard surfaces

Direct the Discharge Deliberately

Most wheeled blowers discharge to one side, and an operator who has not thought about which side ends up blowing debris back across ground already cleared. Working so the discharge always throws toward the collection point, and planning the direction of travel around that rather than around the shape of the site, is what makes the machine efficient rather than merely powerful.

Blow Before You Mow, and Again After

Clearing debris off a lawn before cutting stops the mower chopping leaves into the turf and stops stones reaching the blades. Blowing again afterwards clears the hard surfaces of clippings. Crews that do both produce visibly tidier work than those who only blow at the end.

Hard Surfaces First

Blowing paths onto grass and then cutting is faster than blowing grass onto paths and sweeping.

The Scag Blower Range

The LBX15 Extreme machines offer considerably more output for roughly double the price, and the LBXP17 Extreme Pro more again. The stand-on Windstorm sits far above all of them.
