Honda WSP50 1/2 HP Submersible Trash Pump, 2 Inch Solids

The WSP50 is an electric submersible built for dirty water. Its side discharge and single-channel stainless impeller pass solids up to 2 inches, so it can move slurry, leaves and sludge that would clog a standard utility pump. A 1/2 hp, 115 volt motor delivers up to 110 gallons per minute through a 2 inch port.

Where a Trash Submersible Helps

Honda points to draining basements and window wells, garden irrigation and decorative fountains. In practice, the WSP50 is the pump for water with muck in it: a flooded basement after a storm, a pond being cleaned out, or a construction sump with silt and debris, where a gas pump would be awkward to run indoors.

Continuous Duty, Protected Motor

The pump is rated for 24-hour, seven-day continuous use, with a self-resetting thermal switch if the motor overheats. Oil-lubricated double mechanical seals tolerate running dry, and shielded ball bearings at both ends add longevity. A non-mercury float switch runs it automatically.

Set It on a Hard Base

In a muddy pit, stand the pump on a paving slab or a brick rather than directly on the silt. It draws less mud into the impeller and is easier to lift out afterward.
