BCS PTO Adapter: New Tractor to Old Attachment

In 1995 BCS changed the PTO connection on its two-wheel tractors from a splined shaft to a three-dog (three-jaw) shaft. Attachments built before that change will not connect directly to a modern tractor. This adapter bridges the gap, letting a pre-1995 BCS attachment run on a tractor built since.

Who Needs It

Older BCS implements are long-lived and often turn up secondhand or come with a property: a sickle bar from the 1980s, an old tiller, a snow thrower inherited with a farm. Rather than replacing a sound implement, an owner of a current BCS tractor can fit this adapter and put it back to work.

Check the Implement Before Fitting

An older attachment has probably sat unused for a while. Before running it on a new tractor, change its gearbox oil, turn the drive by hand to feel for rough bearings, and check that guards and blades are sound. The adapter solves the connection; it does not make up for years of storage.
