BCS Anti-Scalp Roller for the 30″ Flail Mower

Market gardeners who mow cover crops on beds with a 30 inch BladeRunner know the problem: on freshly worked or soft soil, skids sink and the flails scalp. This full-width anti-scalp roller replaces the skids, carrying the mower evenly so the flails can run at a half inch cutting height without hitting the ground.

A Standard Flail That Rolls

BCS’s RollerBlade flail mower comes with a full-length roller built in. This accessory gives the 30 inch standard BladeRunner the same benefit for low cutting, while keeping the BladeRunner’s higher dome and taller maximum height for mowing dense, tall growth when the roller is removed.

Shorter Overall Length

The roller sits nearer the tractor wheels than the skids or casters, shortening the machine, which makes it easier to cross ditches and humps without the mower grounding.
