Scag SFC-21 21″ Kohler 5HP

Description

Scag SFC 21 Inch Commercial Push Mower, ZS Specification

A variant of the 5 horsepower Kohler SFC 21, listed separately and at a lower price than the standard machine. The mower underneath is the same commercial 21 inch platform.

Establish What the Suffix Covers

Scag catalogues this alongside the standard SFC-21-5CV at a lower figure, and a price difference on an otherwise identical listing normally reflects a specification difference rather than a discount. Anyone choosing between the two should confirm what is included or omitted before ordering, because the model number alone does not make it clear and the two mowers will look the same on a yard.

• Cutting width: 21 inches
• Engine: Kohler Command, 5 HP
• Type: commercial finish-cut push mower
• Listed below the standard SFC-21-5CV

Cheaper Is Worth Understanding Before Buying

A lower price on a near-identical listing is either a genuine saving or a machine missing something the buyer expected. Both are fine once known. Getting the specification confirmed in writing at the point of order takes one message and removes the possibility of a second conversation later about what should have been on it.

Record What You Received

Where a variant is not fully documented, the machine itself becomes the record. Photographing the model plate and the machine as delivered gives you something concrete to compare against if a second unit is ordered later and arrives different.

Ask Before the Second Order

A fleet buying a matching machine a year on is the case where an undocumented difference causes real inconvenience.

Undocumented Variants Age Badly

A machine whose specification was never written down is hardest to deal with years later, when the person who ordered it has moved on and a part needs matching. A note in the fleet record at purchase carries further than anybody expects it to.

The Standard Alternatives

The SFC-21-5CV is the standard machine at this output. The SFC-21-7CV offers 7 horsepower for heavier work and the SFC-21-4GX is the Honda-powered option.
