Yanmar 58.75″ Rotary Tiller

Description

Yanmar YRT205 58.75-Inch Three-Point Rotary Tiller

The YRT205 is the mid-size rotary tiller in Yanmar’s lineup, with a 58.75-inch working width that covers the rear tire tracks of most compact tractors. That matters because tilling out the wheel marks in the same pass leaves a level seedbed ready for planting.

Working Depth and Protection

It tills to about seven inches and weighs roughly 638 pounds, with a recommended tractor PTO range of 25 to 50 HP. A slip clutch guards the driveline against sudden stops, and the Category 1 hitch is quick-hitch compatible. For sod, running the tractor slowly in low range lets the tines chop the turf rather than bouncing over it.

• Working Height: 7″

Soil Conditions

Tilling soil that is too wet leaves clods that bake hard, while tilling bone-dry ground wastes power and raises dust. The right moisture is when a handful crumbles rather than smears. Adjusting the rear shield lower produces a finer surface, and raising it leaves a rougher finish that resists erosion.

Who Should Choose the YRT205

This is the tiller for compact tractor owners establishing gardens, food plots and new lawns. Smaller tractors are better matched to the 46.5-inch YRT104; larger ones can use the wider YRT206.
