Yanmar 50.5″ One Row Field Cultivator

Description

Yanmar YFC201 50.5-Inch One-Row Field Cultivator

The YFC201 is a one-row field cultivator for compact tractors from about 19 to 45 HP, built for loosening soil and controlling weeds between rows of vegetables and other row crops. Its 50.5-inch frame works a single row at a time, which keeps it light and easy to steer between plants.

Light, Adjustable Cultivation

The cultivator weighs about 139 pounds and measures 37 inches long and 36 inches tall. It mounts to a Category 1 hitch and is quick-hitch compatible. Cultivating shallow and early, while weeds are small, saves more work later in the season than deep passes after weeds are established.

• Hitch: Category 1
• Suggested tractor size: 19 to 45 HP
• Approximate weight: 139 lbs

Timing and Technique

The best time to cultivate is just after weeds germinate and before they root deeply. Setting the shovels to run shallow near young plants protects their roots, while deeper settings suit the middle of wider rows. Keeping the cultivator frame level front to back makes every shank work at the same depth.

Who It’s For

Choose the YFC201 for market gardens and home vegetable plots. For primary tillage before planting, the YRT205 tiller or YDH206 disc harrow is the better tool.
