Description

Scag Tiger Cat II 48 Inch Zero-Turn with 22 HP Kawasaki FX

The Tiger Cat II is Scag’s compact commercial zero-turn, and at 48 inches this is the narrowest and most manoeuvrable machine in the range. A 22 horsepower Kawasaki FX drives a Velocity Plus cutter deck on a single-tube steel frame.

Built Around a Compact Footprint

Where the Turf Tiger is built on a double-tube frame for stability under a wide deck, the Tiger Cat uses a single-tube frame and a shorter overall length of 80 inches. The result is a commercial machine that turns inside bed lines, gets between buildings, and works properties that a larger rider has to leave to a walk-behind. It is the answer for dense sites rather than open ones.

  • Cutting width: 48 inches, Velocity Plus cutter deck
  • Engine: Kawasaki FX Series, 22 HP
  • Overall length: 80 inches
  • Width with chute down: 60.5 inches
  • Fuel capacity: 9.5 gallons
  • Blade engagement: Ogura GT3.5 clutch, 250 ft lb

Cutting Down to One Inch

The Tiger Cat II adjusts from 1 inch to 5 inches in quarter-inch steps, which reaches lower than most commercial zero-turns and lower than the Cheetah II above it. On sports turf, formal lawns and anywhere a close finish is specified, that bottom quarter of the range is the reason to choose this machine over a larger one that physically cannot go there.

Three on a Trailer Instead of Two

At 60.5 inches with the chute down, three of these fit across a trailer bed that would hold two 61 inch machines. For a crew running multiple mowers to one site, that changes how many machines reach the job rather than how fast any one of them cuts, and it is often the deciding factor for a second unit.

Where 48 Inches Fits

Take this width where access decides rather than acreage. The STCII-48V-23CV is the Kohler alternative at a lower price, and the STCII-52V-26FT-EFI steps up a deck size for crews with more open ground. Operators in California need the STCII-48V-26FT-EFI-CA at this width.
